Rain arrival in LAX (Fan account)
| Quote: | 24 April 2008 - LAX (Airport Los Angeles)
Credits : MissMonika / Sexy Bi
This is my fan account of this morning!! Enjoy!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok,so there were a total of 8 fans at LAX this morning to greet Rain.Considering that this was such short notice and the middle of the week,I’m glad that some fans showed up. I bought him flowers (red roses) andJeanY made a present for him.
He didn’t come out of BradleyTerminal this time. LAX directed all the flights from Cathay Pacific toTerminal 4. Initially, there were 6 of us waiting for him to come out.2 Chinese fans who were on the same flight as him, and the 4 of us fromRain-USA (me, JeanY, Lluvia, and mmeng).
Like the HK Cloudssaid, he wore a black beanie, a long black t-shirt with a wing designon it, sunglasses, and jeans. I didn’t get a good look at his shoes. His entourage consisted of 5 people I think. 4 men and 1 woman. Unlikethe last airport thing in November, we didn’t really scream. We calledout his name but there was no screaming. I think all of us were just inawe of his presence. And we didn’t want to scare him.
Wefollowed him out of the terminal and tried to give our presents to him.One of his staff took it from us so I’m happy. We thought there wasgoing to be a car waiting for him outside but surprisingly, theycrossed the street and headed towards the parking structure. They crossthe crosswalk and we followed a few feet behind. Well, the light turnedred so they had to stop at the gap in the middle of the connectingcrosswalks. Thank goodness for that red light because we got to stareat him for a little longer. Many of us kept talking to him, sayingstuff like “Welcome back to LA” or “Congratulations on Speed Racer.”JeanY was a little hyper and kept asking if she could get a picture ofhim but that one staff said no pictures.
Bi acknowledged us andturned around to look at everyone, and smiled a little. Then I don’tknow if it was him or a fan who started it, but he went around andshook all of our hands! (Fangirly moment: I got to touch Rain! I shookhis hand!! *SQUEEEE*) I was holding Lluvia’s son, Kai, in my armsbecause he’s so small and couldn’t see Bi. Lluvia then asked Bi if hecould shake Kai’s hand too, because Kai was reaching out his hand tohim also. Of course Bi complied and took Kai’s hand. Omgosh, it was thecutest thing! Bi’s smile got bigger as he looked at Kai and made thisnoise, almost reminding me of a giggle and an ‘awwww’ sound combined. You can totally tell this guy loves kids.
The light turned greenand they crossed the crosswalk and entered the parking structure. Atthis point, the 4 of us from Rain-USA stop following him and Bi and hisstaff took the elevator up to the 2nd floor. A few minutes later, Jodieand her friend show up with a fruit basket or something like that. Shetold me later that she was successful in giving it to him. So the 4 ofus were standing in the parking lot, in shock and totally hyper. Wewere talking for a few minutes when a black suburban turns the cornerand stops a few feet away from us. The car door opens and we see Bi inthe backseat. Even from a distance he looks good. They exit the parkinglot and drive away.
So, this was the best experience EVER! Wegot to be so close to him and everyone was relatively calm and polite.I’m so proud of everyone! As a result, he shook our hands!! (Fangirlymomen: I GOT TO TOUCH RAIN!!!) By the way, his hands are really soft, especially for a guy. I was surprised. He doesn’t look as thin as hedoes in pictures. I think it’s because his shoulders are so broad. Buthis waist line is kind of slender. But it’s ok, he looks soooooo goodin person. Very hot!
I’m sorry, I didn’t take pictures. I forgotmy camera. But other people did and I’m sure they’ll be posted up soon. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this.
In other words: Mission Accomplished. XDDD

| Quote: | 24 April 200 8 - Fan Account: LAX JeanY POV
Hello fellow BIers!!! I just wanted to share with you guys from my POV...still a little dazed...so i'm feeling numb still...but of course happy! ^__^
The details with Monika is the same of course... With just a little extra.
There were four of us originally but there were two other ladies that came. I'm not sure if they're from Rain-USA so if u were im sorry! But when Rain came they were the first ones to tell us out loud...and there he was, so tall with his glasses and beanie! Our hearts at this point probably simultaneously stopped. With his long strides, he approached quite quickly and before I knew it he walked before my eyes. One of the two ladies ran to him really quickly, gave him her present and excitedly said "Chukhahaeyo!" After hearing that, thats when my brain clicked, I have to give him what i got too! (I got him tea and i was inspired to draw Taejo, so i gave that to him for his amusement's sake...LOLz) I don't know what happened to me! I absent-mindedly said out loud " Oppa! Songmul issoyo!" but one of the managers were the one who turned around and i gave it to him, he already had Monika's flowers by then.
I just remember looking at his back and following him. And when we stopped, it was at a red light to cross to the parking lot. I don't know if what i did was wrong but i just felt like i want to remember this forever. And thats when i called out loud if he could take a picture with me. Of course, i couldn't but i couldn't stop asking...(Sorry manager, i know you were doing what you needed to do)
And then, Rain turned around and extended his hand...I was really confused so i ended up giving him the wrong hand. It was sooo awkward, just looking glazed with my eyes wide...I don't remember this part too clearly...i just remember just having both my hands in front (in the end) and bowing. Problem was i bowed so low that i was afraid he might think i'm trying to kiss his hand! So after i got up, i just said "im sorry" Didn't want him to be scared of me. O_O He shook everyones hand, so that was really cool.
So yeah, we just pretty much walked behind him after this point...And over-all it was an interesting experience. I can't explain the feeling but he always makes me feel like crying after i see him, and i'm like the living dead when he's there. It's surprising how one man can make us all react in different ways and also unite us as one unit. I love it...i love everything about it. Well, i should stop now before i get too cheesy. Hope everyone stays well! ^___^ 파이팅!!!!

Fansof Korean pop and entertainment star Rain (Jeong Ji-Hoon) were treatedto an advance screening of his first Hollywood film, the highlyanticipated family action adventure “Speed Racer” which opens May 9th.The film follows Speed Racer, played by Emile Hirsch, and a group ofother high-octane drivers who inhabit a futuristic and imaginativeworld where speed reigns supreme.
Rain, an internationally bestselling recording artist and star of one of Korea’s all time highestrated dramas, “Full House”, scored his American film debut playing arival driver of Speed Racer‘s named Taejo Togokhan.
Rain’s fanswaited for hours outside the ImaginAsian Center in Los Angeles to catcha glimpse of the star walking the red carpet, some even flying in fromBoston and New York for the chance to meet him.
Preceding Rain’sarrival at the event were prominent Asian-American actors and one ofhis co-stars from “Speed Racer”, Christian Oliver, playing driver“Snake Oiler” in the film; who all came out to show their support forRain and his Hollywood debut.

ChinHan, one of the stars of the upcoming Batman film “The Dark Night”,greeted reporters and looked sharp in a dark suit. 14-year-old Disneyrecording artist Boo Boo Stewart charmed on the red carpet and spokeabout how excited he was to see Rain and “Speed Racer”.
VeteranHollywood favorite James Hong was gregarious with everyone andplayfully accepted a compliment from photographers who told him thatthe cheers from fans weren’t really for Rain but for him. Parry Shenand Karin Anna Chung were also standouts at the “Speed Racer”pre-screening.
When handsome actor Christian Oliver was asked onthe red carpet what his favorite part of making the special-effectsfilled film was, he said, “There were so many favorite parts…being infront of the green screen and having your imagination just going wildwas a pleasure. And playing a character named “Snake Oiler” lendsitself to a lot of fun and a lot of craziness. It was amazing.”

“Ididn’t get to work with him (directly)," Christian said about co-starRain, "but I had fun (hanging out) with him at the hotel. He’s a very, very down to Earth, mellow guy. It’s unbelievable; it’s kind of hard toimagine how big a star he is because he doesn’t have any of these kindsof superstar bad habits. He’s a very nice guy.”
A few minuteslater, Rain himself arrived at the pre-screening to the loud screams ofhis fans who were represented by a diversity of ethnic backgrounds.
Theexuberant crowd carried signs like "L.A. loves (heart) Rain" and “NYloves (heart) Rain” and a banner congratulating him on six years ofentertaining.

Rainwas dressed stylishly in a jean and dressy jacket ensemble and beamedas he greeted his fans and supporters; only briefly leaving them tostroll down the red carpet and talk to reporters. Amiable andcharismatic, the smiling star also exuded a disarmingly shy andunassuming quality; attributes which have only helped to increase theinternational public’s fascination with him.
When he was askedwhat the most fun part of making future blockbuster “Speed Racer” was,the star thoughtfully replied, “Probably the driving scenes.” Rainmentioned that he didn’t enjoy working with the green screen as much ashe enjoyed doing the action filled racing scenes in the film.
Onworking with directors the Wachowski brothers, he said, “They are thebest…they have the amazing ability to make dreams come true with theirpowerful imaginations.” After a reporter asked how Rain, who has fansall over the world, felt about having even more fans in the middle ofLos Angeles, he replied enthusiastically “I always love my fans!” whileturning and waving to the screaming crowd behind him.
Rain’sfirst big foray into American films has him playing Taejo Togokhan, thehead driver and heir to Togokhan motors, one of the most prominentracing companies in the colorful world of “Speed Racer”. In the film,Rain’s character Taejo must defend his family’s honor against his andSpeed Racer's (Emile Hirsch’s) mutual enemy, billionaire E.P. ArnoldRoyalton who wants to take over Togokhan motors and control everyaspect of the racing industry.
“I’m so excited because it’s myfirst Hollywood film,” the beaming star said after being asked aboutall the anticipation surrounding “Speed Racer” and the experience ofbeing in such a large scale Hollywood production.
Theentertainer also mentioned that one of the most important things hewanted the American public to know about him is that he is “hardworking”. Shot on location in Germany, “Speed Racer” required topphysical fitness and long hours performing in front of a green screen.

WhenRain, who has played to sold out stadiums around the world (includingin New York’s Madison Square Garden), was asked when he would have aconcert in Los Angeles, he declined to comment. He did say however thatwhen it came to acting versus singing, “I love both of them” andcommented that he wants to continue doing both.
Betweeninterviews, Rain posed for pictures and palled around with co-star andfriend Christian Oliver. After being interviewed by the press, Rainposed with the Speed Racer Mach 5 which was parked outside the theatreto the delight of fans and passers by. Several L.A. motorists had theircell phones out snapping photos of the Mach 5 and Rain. Fans behind thebarricades were streaming tears as their hero quickly moved away fromthe car and began signing autographs and appreciatively acceptingbouquets of flowers from the crowd.
Before heading into thepacked theatre to watch “Speed Racer” with special guests and fans,Rain commented that he enjoyed the experience of making thefamily-friendly actioner because, “The actors and crew were like afamily…we had the most efficient team work…we had the best.”

26.04.2008 Speed Racer Takes Off at World Premiere in L.A.
“Speed Racer” stars, friends, and fans took a pit stop at L.A.’s Nokia Theatrefor the world premiere of the soon to be summer blockbuster. The highlyanticipated action packed family film from producer Joel Silver anddirectors Larry and Andy Wachowski races to the big screen on May 9with stunning live action performances from a star-studded,international cast.
The film, based on Tatsuo Yoshida's original1960s anime, debuted in a mega premiere which matched perfectly withthe colorful and larger than life feel of the film.
A sizzlingred carpet blazed like a speedway with fans cheering wildly in thegrandstands for their favorite stars. Music pumping and giant screensglowing with clips from the film only added to the electric atmospheregenerated by stars Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox, Asianpop sensation Rain, Christian Oliver and the entire “Speed Racer” cast.
Roundingthe corner of the red carpet first was Hollywood favorite Jon Voightlooking dapper as always. Unfazed by the L.A. heat, Voight wascharacteristically cool, greeting fans and Warner Bros. crew memberslike old friends.
The centerpiece of the premiere was the famousMach 5, Speed Racer’s unforgettable racecar. As Voight approached thecar, he joked around with photographers when he was told by one to“face the car”. Voight gladly said “okay” and turned his back to thepress to stare at the Mach 5 before whipping back around with a smile.
FollowingVoight were two of the young stars from “Speed Racer”. Just asprofessional as their grown-up counterparts, smiling child actorsNicholas Elia (young Speed Racer) and Ariel Winter (young Trixie) werepros at posing for the camera and entertaining the fans.
Scott Porter, who plays Rex in “Speed Racer”, followed down the carpet withRain arriving shortly after. The Asian pop star wore a fashionable tansuit and white shirt ensemble and seemed right at home on the redcarpet beaming for photographers and waving to fans.
Thefriendly and charismatic star who plays racer Taejo Togokhan alsodisplayed a gentle and unassuming quality. When Rain noticed his “SpeedRacer” co-star Christian Oliver on the red carpet, he warmly embracedhis friend saying, “Hey buddy!”
After posing in front of aflurry of flashbulbs and throwing up a final Miley Cyrus-style peacesign for the press, Rain dashed off before the movie started.
Charmingactor Oliver then had a good time with the the photogs and delightedfans, posing in a stylish white suit and showing off the fun andcolorful shirt he was wearing under his jacket which featured a snakepattern representing the racing character he plays in the film, SnakeOiler.
Oliver was happy to talk about the fun and camaraderiebetween the “Speed Racer” cast. “It was great to hang out with the guysat the hotel and get to know them and have a little Speed Racer family.I mean there was not a bad apple in the whole cast. It was amazing.”
“Yousee someone like Emile Hirsch who’s up and coming or Rain who is like asuperstar…so from all over the world from all different continents…tohave all these people come together for this one thing. It was great,it was a lot of fun.” Asked if there would be a “Speed Racer” sequel inthe future, the actor enthusiastically said, “I hope so…I thinkeverybody would say that we had an amazing time and we want to doanother one, for sure!”
Next to arrive, adding a classic touchto the affair, was little Paulie Litt who plays Speed’s wisecrackinglittle brother Spritle in the movie. Just like stars at premieres fromthe golden age of Hollywood, the young and likeable Litt showed up in ablack tie tux but added a kick to it with plaid sneakers. Also lookingstylish was Richard Roundtree in a gold toned suit and a laid backdemeanor. Roundtree plays Ben Burns, a former racing champion in thefilm.
Cool and collected, Japanese super star Hiroyuki Sanadasauntered down the red carpet and met up with “Racer” co star Rainlater on. The two disappeared into the background and seemed likedbuddies; laughing and taking in the whole event.
Looking lovelyand demur, Christina Ricci, who plays Speed’s girlfriend Trixie in thefilm, graced the premiere with her sweet demeanor. Wearing a smartblack and white print dress, she exuded the glamour of old Hollywoodand looked ready for summer. Suave and mysterious, Matthew Fox chose ablack-on-black ensemble which was a perfect fit for the enigmatic RacerX character he plays in the film .
Golden Globe nominee EmileHirsch, who plays the title role in “Speed Racer”, arrived shortlyafter and went instead for a classic denim look. Against the Mach 5,Hirsch was reminiscent of James Dean.
Joined closely with hisgirlfriend, Emile greeted excited fans and later warmly greeted theproducer of the film, Joel Silver. Both were very friendly with oneanother and looked very happy to see each other again.
Emile, thrilled to be at the premiere of “Speed Racer”, even stopped for amoment to bend down and greet an especially young fan who wanted tomeet him. He introduced himself to the young boy, smiling and givinghim a high five.
Following Speed Racer star arrivals were“Dancing with the Stars” favorites Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna lookingfabulous with their family. The couple’s kids seemed overjoyed to beseeing the film as did the children of recording artist “Slash” whoarrived minutes later.
And, just when it seemed all thefanfare was over and everyone had gone inside before the start of themovie, Emile Hirsch came back for one last lap; and, this time, hepleasantly surprised everyone by happily posing and reuniting with theMach 5 to show the world just how cool Speed Racer really is.
“Speed Racer” opens May 9th. Watch the official trailer for "Speed Racer" withoriginal music produced by award-winning composer Michael Giacchino.
