Perhaps whoever live in Hong Kong may watch the program as well.
HK Cable TV channel 53 Discovery has a program about (Korean Wave - Rain) on Feb 23rd.
31 Jan 2009 - Rain to Get Spotlight on Discovery Channel
Korean top star Rain will appear on Discovery, the world-renowned cable channel, J. Tune Entertainment announced Friday.
Documentary "Hip Korea'' will focus on Korea's pop culture and introduce the singer as its frontrunner. His agency stated that the documentary is to air in various countries from Jan 31, starting first in Australia and New Zealand and then Asia.
The Hip Korea crew filmed the star for six months, and the documentary reveals his down-to-earth lifestyle, including clips of Rain casually conversing with his close friend, entertainer Kim Jae-dong about his innermost feelings over a drink and reminiscing his departed mother at her crypt.
The documentary has interviews with stars who have worked with the singer in the past, including Steven Colbert, who had a dance battle with the star on his show "The Colbert Report,'' and actress Susan Sarandon, who co-starred with Rain in the movie "Speed Racer.''
"Hip Korea'' is to air in all regions in Asia, including Korea, on Feb. 23.
Mannnoooooo. _________________
1 Jan 2009 - [Fan Account] I really watched Rain's documentary on Discovery channel yesterday
Here is New Zealand.
Some years ago, I immigrated to this country from Korea.
I really watched Rain's documentary on Discovery channel yesterday.(January 31)
Besides, it was on air on Saturday at 7:30 pm, most-watched time zone.
Rain's talk part was subtitled in English.
The content was about his suffering from poverty in his childhood, his story that it required blood, sweat, and tears to succeed, and etc.
Yes, I know everything, but it was so touching again.
Wow! even Rainism music video was being broadcasted, and the rest of songs included in his 5th album equally seemed to be broadcasted.
I would hardly keep from tears because it was very impressive.
This program is to be broadcasted tomorrow.
I'll surely watch it again!

2 Feb 2009 - [Fan Account] Hip Korea on Discovery channel
I WISH IT WAS LONGER!!!!!!
I don't think squeezing 8 years of his hard work into an hour show was enough... or am I being biased?? Hehehehehe...
I enjoyed it even though most of the information we already know. It started from his Fan Club band days (cute photos). Then it showed his old school and neighbourhood. I like the commentary by JYP (in English). The show talked about his hard life including the death of his Mum. And his determination to succeed and keep his promise to his Mum. It showed his journey from his first album (Bad Guy) till Rainism as well as his Six to Five project. And of course, the 'competition' with Steven Colbert.
The ending gave me the impression that Rain will never quench his thirst for success. The narrator stated that in order for Rain to keep up with the changing generation he has to come up with ideas that will appeal to the general public.
And my golly, I didn't realize the impact of winning the Mnet (?) had for the success of Rainism. The documentary pretty much said that leaving JYP was a gamble he took and luckily won. But this is only the beginning... He still has a lot to 'conquer'.
Of course, lots and lots of Rain interview *wink*
In conclusion... I think it was well done and covered the most important factors in Rain's life.

_________________ RAIN Germany

The promo for the first hour in a series on Hip Korea starring Jihoon Jung aka Rain due to air in Asia on Feb. 23rd 2009 or later, depending on the country, on Discovery Channel. The program follows the trials and tribulations of superstar Rain from his childhood to today, as a metaphor for the success of the Korea and the changing face of its capital city of Seoul.
YES!!!!! Super!
