Sooooooo schön dieser Mann!
Nur noch 2 Tage, yes, yes, yes! Habe gestern TV Ants ausprobiert, nun ja, es will nicht so ganz funktionieren, da die Verbindungen sehr schlecht ist. Ich habe ein Discovery Kanal (glaube es ist chinesisch) gefunden, aber nicht das Koreanische. Ich bin am Montag zu Hause, also könnte ich es mir eigentlich angucken. Aber dafür muss dieses Ding auch funktionieren.

Rain and Lee Byung Hun ride the Korean pop culture wave with aplomb
AH ... South Korea. The land of kimchi (fermented vegetable appetiser), shabu-shabu (steamboat), Jinro (Korean distiller), the 2002 FIFA World Cup (well, half of it, anyway), and taekwondo. These days, though, the republic is not only increasingly known for its electronic gadgets but also, an exploding pop culture scene with a popularity that is spreading like wildfire across the world.
This is thanks in part to a robust entertainment industry with a knack for coming up with critically-acclaimed movies and tear-jerking TV dramas that feature a seemingly endless stream of luscious actresses (all of whom seem to be able to burst into tears at will), and heartthrob male artistes with the ability to make thousands of girls swoon and go weak at the knees.
Malaysians got to catch Rain’s spectacular showmanship during his Rain’s Coming concert at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil, in 2007.
Of the latter, more testosterone-fuelled group, two names stand out– Jung Ji Hoon (better known as Rain) and Lee Byung Hun. One is a pop idol who can drive girls into a frenzy with a single dance step, and the other’s an acclaimed veteran actor with countless awards and who has appeared in some of the biggest Korean box-office hits ever.
They have little else in common apart from having acted in Hollywood blockbuster movies (Rain in last year’s Speed Racer and Lee in the upcoming G.I. Joe) and being among their country’s top international celebrities.
Well, now they have another thing in common – the two will be the focal point of Discovery Channel’s new documentary Hip Korea. The series chronicles the rise of the Korean pop culture wave through the personal journeys of these two superstars.
Hip Korea contains two hour-long episodes. The first is Seoul Vibes – Jihoon Jung that premieres on Discovery Channel tomorrow while the second instalment, Seoul Savvy – Byung Hun Lee, airs in June.
Hip Korea is a broadcast initiative by Discovery Networks in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and is co-produced with Bang Singapore Pte Ltd. The series will no doubt be a boost to the Koreans’ desire to reinvent their capital city as the “Soul of Asia, a city of design and culture’’.

Unstoppable Rain
Rain plays ninja assassin Raizo in the upcoming feature directed by James McTeigue. The role allows the Korean heartthrob to flex his muscles, literally.
‘Hip Korea: Seoul Vibes’ follows the launch of Rain’s latest and fifth Korean album ‘Rainism’, and showcases his talent and skills as a musician and performing artiste.
If there was any doubt in my mind about Rain’s ability to entertain, it was banished when the singer-songwriter staged a concert at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, in January 2007. During that event I witnessed two sides to the superstar. By day, he was mild-mannered Jung Ji Hoon who answered interview questions with a shy smile and a quiet, humble demeanour. But by night, he turned into the wild dance machine that the performer is so famous for, electrifying the stadium with his slick moves and charming looks.
Brief as my encounter with the laconic hunk was, I was thoroughly convinced that the young chap was truly meant to be a star – a far cry from his days of hunger and poverty living with his parents and his younger sister.
He has not forgotten the hard life nor his late mother’s words of wisdom. In a previous interview, the 26-year-old Seoul native proudly stated: “My mum always taught me: Work hard, be humble, and be patient. That has become my motto.” (His mother never lived to see her son’s success as she passed away just before his 2002 singing debut.)
Born on June 25, 1982, Rain (“Bi” in Korean; his dancing apparently was redolent of a rainy day) spent most of his youth honing his dancing skills. He made his foray into the entertainment world in 2000 when he was recruited by the acclaimed JYP Entertainment company, founded by acclaimed producer and artiste Park Jin Young.
After spending several years as a backup dancer, Rain finally released his first album, Bad Guy, in 2002, and in the same year made his acting debut in the drama series Orange.
In a couple of years the young guy became a well-known star in his home nation but it wasn’t until his starring role in Full House (opposite the popular Song Hye Kyo) in 2004 that Rain truly gained international stardom.
The TV show about the romance between a famous actor and a regular woman, which was shown in countries all over Asia, including Malaysia, turned out to be one of the highest-rated Korean series. Rain was also much-hailed for his performance in the show, winning a best actor award at the KBS Awards in 2005.
Striking the iron while it was hot, Rain’s third album – the 2004 It’s Raining – became his most successful album to date, topping most of the Asian charts. It also provided an impetus to the wildly successful Rain’s Coming world tour that kicked off in 2006. The concert series saw Rain enthralling audiences from South Korea to Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, United States, Singapore and, of course, Malaysia.
Rain’s spectacular achievements in 2006 included the release of his fourth Korean album, Rain’s World, as well as his first film role in the Park Chan Wook romantic comedy, I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK. Memorably, he made it to Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Last August, Rain joined well-known Chinese entertainers to sing Beijing, I Love Beijing during the closing ceremony of the 2008 Olympics at the Bird’s Nest stadium.
Now that he has conquered Asia, Rain is currently setting his sight on Hollywood. He has already appeared in one summer blockbuster – as a rookie racer in last year’s Speed Racer directed by the Wachowski brothers. His latest Hollywood assignment is playing the title role of Ninja Assassin (set for release this year).
At the 2008 San Diego Comic Con in the US, Rain told About.com Hollywood Movies that he had learnt taekwondo before the film.
"I learned taekwondo, it’s Korean martial arts. And for this movie, I learned ninja expression!s, ninja techniques and ninja martial arts. You’re going to like it."
And we like his fighting spirit.

Wie ich mich schon darauf freue!
Rain's "It's Raining" sei sein erfolgreichtest Album bis jetzt (kein Wunder, damals mit dem Riesenerfolg von Full House). Aber ich würde gerne wissen, wie Rainism abgeschnitten hat.

Ach verdammt, die Clips wurden von happyyouyou entfernt! Schade, weil es HQ war!
Ich habe gestern bis Mitternacht gewartet, bevor endlich die ersten Clips kamen. Ich habe schon erwartet, dass die Show auf Englisch sein wird und deswegen hatte ich mich von Anfang an darauf sehr gefreut.
Die Doku war anders als ich erwartet habe - nicht besser, nicht schlechter. Es war sehr gut gemacht und mit vielen interessanten Infos, die ich vorher nicht wusste.
- Rain und seine Mutter: ich muss wohl nicht sagen, dass ich wieder mit den Tränen gekämpft habe, als er ihr Grab besucht hat und als er über "han" gesprochen hat, dass er es bereut, seiner Mutter zu Lebzeiten nicht seine Liebe gezeigt zu haben. "han" ist ein Teil der koreanischen Kultur oder soll ich sagen Lebensphilosophie. Ich weiß jetzt nicht, wie ich es hier erklären soll. Am besten ihr schaut es nach  .
- Ich fand es auch interessant, dass Rain in sich eine immens gestaute Wut gegen das Leben anscheinend hat bzw. gegen das Schicksal. Das ist es auch, was JYP am Ende angemerkt hat. Rain hätte jetzt seine Rache an der Welt genommen (Armut, der Verlust seiner Mutter) und soll jetzt neue Motivationen finden. Ich mag JYP nicht, aber es war ein interessanter Punkt
- Rain sieht das Schauspielern als Ventil (oder auch Therapie), wo er seine Wut, seinen Frust herauslassen kann, was er im normalen Leben nicht tun kann. Das kann ich total verstehen!
- JYP & Rain: Rain kann es bis heute nicht verstehen, warum ihn damals JYP bei der Audition für 3-4 Stunden tanzen liess und das gefiel mir sehr  , dass er das gesagt hat. Es gab auch nicht die Lobgesänge für JYP in dieser Doku, was mir auch gefiel. Man erkennt hier auch, wie gemein JYP mit Rain umging, was er auch selber zugibt. Was ich persönlich auch sehr interessant fand war von JYP zu hören, wie es mit der Krankheit von Rains Mutter war. Ich hatte mich nämlich oft gefragt, warum dieser Mensch, der so viel Geld hatte, Rain nicht geholfen hat. Wenn es stimmt, was JYP sagt, dann hat Rain ihm bis zum Ende nichts gesagt. Erst als es seiner Mutter sehr schlecht ging, bat er um seine Hilfe. Sie brachten sie sofort ins Krankenhaus, aber es sei dann leider zu spät gewesen. JYP meinte, er hätte Rain umbringen können, warum er es ihm nicht schon vorher gesagt hat.
Ich denke, es hatte verschiedene Gründe dafür (wenn natürlich JYP's Geschichte stimmt): Rain war sich vielleicht über die Ernstlage der Krankheit seiner Mutter nicht so bewusst, dass es z.B. tödlich enden kann. Seine Mutter war sehr stark und hatte ihren Schmerz nie gezeigt. Und Rain war (und ist) ein stolzer Mensch. Er hätte nie um Geld gebeten. So sehe ich es jedenfalls.
Es ist wirklich eine sehr gut gemachte Doku, wo man wieder Seiten von Rain sieht, die die Bewunderung für diesen Menschen nur noch steigern. Es erfüllt einen mit Stolz, ein Fan von diesem fantastischen Menschen und Künstler zu sein! Das, was er am Ende der Doku sagt, über Niederlagen und Erfolge im Leben, ist wirklich eine Inspiration!
Ich hoffe wirklich, dass es zu diesem Clip einen HQ-DL gibt, da ich diese Doku sehr sorgfältig aufbewahren möchte.
Sorry, für die lange Post. Vieles hatte mich schon seit gestern beschäftigt und deswegen habe ich mal hier alles geschrieben, was mir jetzt spontan einfiel.  Vielleicht kommt später noch einiges dazu - ja, ja das war jetzt eine Drohung  !

vieeeeeeeeeeelen Dank LVRN für diese ausführliche Information zu der Doku. Ich hatte bis jetzt noch nicht die Möglichkeit sie mir an zu sehen aber werde das heute Abend noch nachholen. So weiß ich gleich von vornherein auf was ich besonders achte wenn ich sie mir ansehe.
Ich finde es spitze, dass sie in Englisch ist yuhuuuuuuu.
Mehr dazu, wenn ich es mir auch angesehen habe.
Schade, dass die Clips gelöscht wurden aber war eigentlich schon fast abzusehen, wegen des Copyrights. Bloß gut, dass ich sie schon habe.

Auf dem 3., 4. und 5. Foto Foto sieht man wie traurig sogar sein Lächeln ist. Er wirkt so einsame und auch abgekämpft.

Auf dem allerletzten Foto sieht man wie er wieder mit den Tränen kämpft, weil er über seine Mutter spricht.
Jetzt wo ich die Caps gesehen habe - vielen Dank dafür Phoenix - sind mir andere Dinge eingefallen, die ich interessant fand:
- JYP sprach darüber, dass Rain ein System für sich wollte und er ihm das nicht geben konnte, weil er dafür die Hälfte seiner Company Rain zur Verfügung stellen musste. Um es kurz zu sagen: Rain hatte schon immer große Träume und Vorstellungen, die Dinge nach seiner Art und Weise zu machen. Und dies konnte er am besten in seinem eigenen System, d.h. mit seinem eigenen Unternehmen
- Rain sagte, dass er mit "Rainism" nicht nur reifer wurde was die Musik betraf, sondern er auch sich jetzt als Mann fühle, also erwachsen, was bei den Alben vorher nicht der Fall war.
- In der Doku sprachen sie auch kurz über die Zensur von Rainism. Sie zeigen einen Ausschnitt von Rain im Radiointerview, wo er dazu Stellung nimmt und es wird deutlich, dass er die Reaktion wirklich nicht nachvollziehen konnte und meinte, dass der Magic Stick-Tanz nur ein Tanz wäre. Der Moderator sagte: Give Rain a break oder so ähnlich und Rain antwortete: Yeah, give me a break, also "Lasst mich in Ruhe"-Art! Er hatte einfach nicht die Kraft, dagegen anzukämpfen, weil er wusste dass es nichts bringen wird
- beim Gespräch mit seinem Freund im Zelt-Restaurant wurde dies auch deutlich: er sagte, dass er eine große Last fühlt. Wenn er einen kleinen Fehler begeht, was ja normal ist im Lernprozess, versuchen sie ihn herunterzubringen. Und wenn Dinge nicht funktionieren, gibt es immer Leute, die alles kritisieren. Sein Freund antwortete darauf, dass er, Rain, den 1. Schritt getan/gewagt hat. Weil er als 1. etwas tut oder macht, hat er dadurch mehr Sorgen, sprich er trägt das Risiko.
Rain ist sich also darüber bewusst, dass es dort draussen Leute gibt, die nur darauf warten, dass Rain fällt und versagt. Das ist wohl auch einer der Gründe, warum er Tag und Nacht hart und unermüdlich arbeitet und sich immer weiterentwickelt und immer mit neuen Ideen kommt und wirklich in allem der Trendsetter ist. Deswegen kämpft er gegen solche Dinge wie Zensur nicht, weil er weiß, dass es nichts bringt und benutzt seine Energie und Zeit um etwas Besseres zu machen und um den Leuten keinen weiteren Grund zu geben, um ihn zu kritisieren.
Ich wünsche Rain vom ganzen Herzen, dass sich für ihn all seine Träume erfüllen und er in allem erfolgreich wird. Und wenn er eines Tages dieses Business wirklich satt haben sollte, dann hoffe ich, dass es eine wundervolle Frau an seiner Seite geben wird, die ihm die Liebe und das Glück geben wird, was er so braucht und seit langem verdient *sigh*.
Upps, wieder eine lange Post! Sorrrrrry! Aber dieser Rain ist wirklich einmalig und ich bin einfach nur hin und weg ...
