This tale of a family of racers — Racer is the family name — exists simultaneously in the 1950s and today, in a live-action world and its own complementary alternate cyber-universe. Operating a pitch of delirious precision, the movie is a rich, cartoonish dream: non-stop Op art, and a triumph of virtual virtuosity. Maybe a lot of civilians didn't go see the picture, but you can bet it attracted the smart boys in Hollywood. They will pilfer its effects and, by next summer, produce a domesticated, more palatable version. My advice: Don't wait for the rip-offs; accept no substitutes. Speed Racer is the future of movies, on DVD now.

Dafür dass der Film angeblich ein Flop war, ist es keine schlechte Platzierung, nein, eine sehr gute sogar, wenn man bedenkt, was es für Filme 2008 im Kino gab. Tja, daran sieht man, dass ein Film nicht nur danach beurteilt wird, ob es ein Kassenerfolg war oder nicht. "I'm A Cyborg, .. " war auch kein Kassenhit in Korea, aber der Film wurde international gefeiert, gewann einen Preis bei der Berlinale.

und weiß man nun schon wer Rain gesprochen hat?
oder hattest du das schon lange rausgefunden (sind zu viele seiten um es nachzugucken)  )
naja...obs die dvd zu kaufen gab wusste ich noch nicht genau...nur ich war bei videoworld und die hatten die da auf einmal O_O ich hab echt gestaunt!!

ja ich habe jetzt auch gestaunt Mauni, ich hatte das überhaupt nicht mitbekommen ... hättest du nichts gesagt, hätte ich vermutlich noch eine Weile lang nicht danach geschaut.
Nein leider weiß ich immer noch nicht wer ihn in Deutsch gesprochen hat. Ich will mir die DVD holen und hoffe, dass der Name dann irgendwo im Abspann auftaucht. Wenn das auch nichts hilft hoffe ich, dass sie das Synchronisationstudio wenigstens irgendwo erwähnen, dann ruf ich dort mal an. Über Babelsberg hatte ich leider auch nichts herausfinden können, die haben gar nicht erst auf meine E-Mails reagiert obwohl ich sogar den Ansprechpartner für Speed Racer hatte. 
Aber irgendwie scheint es, als ist der Film doch viel besser herausgekommen als man immer so in den Medien gehört hat. Gerade was Europa anging gabs ja mächtig paar auf die Mütze aber woanders gings wohl richtig ab ... hm naja also doch so ein klein wenig ein Erfolg auch wenn's nur auf dem Papier ist ...

According to Empire Internet Edition, "Speed Racer" was selected as one of 50 movies with Dark Knight, Happening, Iron Man, Lust Caution, and etc.
"Speed Racer", which was released on May 8th in Korea and on May 9th in the USA, is the movie that Rain played Taejo Togokahn who was Asian-American automobile company businessman's son and car racer, Wachowski brothers directed.
Before this, "Speed Racer" was also selected as one of "Top of Movies" by Time Magazine, American news weekly.

Hast du dir eigentlich die deutsche DVD gekauft, Phoenix?
Schade, dass Rain nicht vorkommt, aber spätestens beim Ninja Assassin Trailer wird er auch auftauchen  . So als Hauptdarsteller in einem Film wäre es ja auch empfehlenswert oder?
